Almost 2 years ago, my dear friend, Annie Rowden and I, got together and began working on a project that focused on naturally dyed yarns and enjoyable patterns that were engaging, but still relaxing to knit!
At the 2016 Stitches West we were lucky enough to snag some of the most breathtaking, naturally dyed yarn from Kristine Vejar at her gorgeous A Verb for Keeping Warm booth! If you've never had a chance to work with AVFKW yarn, I cannot recommend it highly enough!
I am always drawn to blush pinks, and I think that this Mesa colorway may be the perfect hue! I knew I wanted to knit up something flirty and romantic. As I ran the yarn through my fingers, its bouncy texture whispered garter stitch, with a little texture thrown in to keep it engaging. Some designs take a lot of contemplating, sketching, swatching and trial and error to get it just right. Boho Blush - was not one of those designs. This shawl was destined to be. I cast on and the stitches just flew off my needles, everything just falling into place! The brioche and lace bands add a balance of squishy texture and delicate openness to the shawl. Its crescent shape hugs your shoulders and the fringe is just. SO. FUN!!!
I know you all will love knitting this shawl! I can't wait to wear it all year round :) Make sure to also check out Annie's perfect new pullover, Menhir, also knit up in lovely AVFKW yarn!
