Happy Sunday everyone! I've been spending mine curled up with a cup of tea and this stunner of a book, Maine Knits, created by Beatrice Perron Dahlen, who you might know as Thread & Ladle.
I was lucky enough to spend time with Bea this past fall during our trip to Rhinebeck. She is someone that you immediately want to be friends with, and her passion for a handmade life with her family is infectious!
Her book is such a labor of love, and you can feel it in every single page. Bea, along with her contributors, really transport you to Maine and all of its wild beauty. The photographs are just as delicious as the patterns, and it is definitely a book to keep out for inspiration, instead of tucked away on a book shelf. I look forward to many more mornings getting lost in its beautiful pages!
So let's jump right in - I would love to share with you my favorites from the book!
Oh my gosh, y'all!! This lace yoke pullover is just so beautiful! Bea wore this while at Rhinebeck, and it has jumped to the top of my selfish knitting queue! I absolutely adore it!!
It's no surprise that I love the Quarry shawl by Bristol Ivy. You had me at shawls and speckles ;)
I always love a good textured motif, like the center panel in Alicia Plummer's Mountainside Pullover. I especially love it layered over a collared shirt like she has it here!
The book also includes patterns from Carrie Bostick Hoge, Cecily Glowik MacDonald, Mary Jane Mucklestone, Leila Raabe, Elizabeth Smith, Kristen TenDyke, and Leah B. Thibault! Such a talented group of Maine designers!!
The best part?? I get to give away 2 autographed copies of this amazing book! I will be giving one away here on the blog, and one more on Instagram! So make sure to enter both to double your chances to win!! To enter here, leave a comment below telling me which pattern you can't wait to cast on! Remember to leave either your email address or your Ravelry ID in the body of the comment so that I have a way to contact you!! The giveaways will close Friday, 2/24/17 at midnight EST.
A big congratulations to last weeks winner - Megan!!
